Senior Financial Analyst, External Reporting Company Overview Job Reference: JP00008284 Hours of work: 40 Location: Calgary, AB Contract Duration: 12 months Language: English Reporting to the Senior Manager, External Reporting, this role will be responsible for the preparation of the interim and annual Consolidated Financial Statements and Annual Information Form. In addition, this role will assist with the review of the MD&A;, Supplemental Information and supporting financial schedules. This position will work with key contacts throughout the organization to report accurate and timely financial results while ensuring regulatory requirements are met. The successful candidate will be an individual who strives for excellence in reporting accuracy and demonstrates strong leadership skills while working in a team environment. Key Responsibilities: - Responsible for the preparation of the interim and annual Consolidated Financial Statements. - Assist with the review of the quarterly and annual Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A;) and Supplemental Information. - Review the accuracy and completeness of a variety of schedules to support the quarterly and annual financial documents. - Partner with the numerous teams across the company to deliver accurate, transparent and insightful financial reporting. - Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and implement process improvements. - Ensure adequate internal controls over financial reporting are in place. - Assist with the transition to Integrated Reporting. Qualifications: Deliverables: - Prepare the interim and annual Consolidated Financial Statements. - Monitor International Financial Reporting developments and implement changes. - Seek to continuously improve our external disclosures through peer reviews. - Review other external reporting documents for consistency. Competencies: The role requires strong skills in the following areas: Technical - Strong analytical and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to execute in a time-constrained environment. - Excellent business writing and oral communication skills. - Good knowledge of the oil and gas industry. - Excellent knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and Continuous Disclosure requirements for a public company. - Experience with WDesk and an ERP system (SAP) is preferred. - Internal controls over financial reporting ? strong understanding of internal control framework. - Strong computer skills including Microsoft.
